Because tap™ comes directly from the source right to your tap it doesn’t require any packaging or shipping – so is much better for the environment.  And in terms of quality, our water is world-class.

In fact tap™ is subjected to 70 different tests and also has the added benefit of fluoride for healthy teeth.

where does tap™ come from?

Most of the water for greater Sydney comes from rainwater captured in dams.

When water leaves the dams, it passes to one of nine water filtration plants around the Sydney region, where the water is treated to meet stringent quality and health standards.

On leaving the filtration plant, the water enters the customer supply system - a complex series of pipes and reservoirs which are responsible for delivering great quality water to homes and businesses across the greater Sydney area.

Sydney Water also has a desalination plant, which separates fresh water from seawater. The fresh water is treated to make sure it's up to national drinking standards, before it heads out to homes across Sydney.
